Five Years of Love

My favorite day of the year is today. Everyone celebrates the new year with hopes of new beginnings. It's a fresh start.

Engagement Day - December 14, 2007

Five years ago, today, at 10:30AM, I said, "I Do" to my favorite person in the whole world. It feels so long ago, yet not, at the same time.

December 31, 2007

I had butterflies that day. It was a new beginning to a new life.

December 31, 2007

In January, I flew to Alabama to meet my new family. They had a wedding cake to celebrate.

We lived apart for 16 months, but saw each other at least every other week. (I miss going to Destin!)

2008

2008
   This guy was someone special.

July 2008

He was definitely brought into my life without me searching.

August 2008
October 2008
I left my job and home in Florida to create a new life with my new husband. It was so cool to say that word. To feel like I belonged somewhere and to know how much someone loved me.

Thanksgiving 2009
I loved my new last name. I've always loved that name before I even met Mr. JCrew. I've had a baby name list since I was in eighth grade... (yes, I love lists.) Jensen was a name I heard for a boy and I loved it. With it being my last name, all my kids would have it! ... and I like the spelling of my last name better. -son instead of -sen.

December 2009
So many memories have been created in these five years.

August 2009

We ran a 5k together. It was the first time I had ever run more than a mile outside of school.

October 2009
We then ran another 5k.

September 2010
We've made memories at the Zoo, Aquarium, mountains and Ocoee White Water rafting.

July 2010

We bought a house together and added a third dog the our crew.

July 2010
We've had our goofy times ...

October 2010

November 2009
And our grown up moments.

April 2008
October 2010

I have also been blessed with two beautiful boys.

October 1, 2012
All of this wouldn't be possible had I not been where I was, when I was, to have met this beautiful stranger that I now can't love enough. I don't think I could ever tell him enough how much he means to me and how thankful I am.

I am such a spoiled girl. I have a wonderful husband by my side that bends over backwards to do what he can to provide for me and the boys (dogs too!)

November 2012

Thank you, Mr. JCrew, for making my life so beautiful! I love you.

My 16-Month Old Knows About Pumping!

I shouldn't be surprised, but I am!

I breastfed Little JCrew until he was 12 months and would to have loved to go longer, but his little brother came along and I had to wean him.

I have a pump to take with me to work, but for some reason I have an oversupply, so I have to pump on my days at home once too.

So, this morning, Little JCrew is begging to play with one of my grown-up toys and I hand him assembled parts of my pump to distract him for two seconds. I then watch him grab the part, lift up his shirt and put the part on his body!

I laughed and said, "Good Job" and then realized he's a sponge! I can't do anything and think he doesn't understand. Clearly, he does!

I'm so proud of him for learning things, but I won't be handing him pump parts again.

Aigh! It's funny and wrong all at the same time.

Rainy Day Entertainment

What to do on a cold and rainy day?

Mr. JCrew is good about getting us out and about. He's always taking Little JCrew to the park in the neighborhood or going on walks.

With the weather being nasty, we can't stay outside. So, we've been hitting up the stores!
Today we went to the mall. Little JCrew wanted to be helpful.

It was so sweet! We started yelling, "Go, go, go!" And he started yelling it too. We're going to count that as his first repeated word. He never repeats what we say, but "Go" is one he's done before.

Baby B enjoyed the crazy driving his brother was doing. It gave him lots of things to see.

The boys really do love each other. Little JCrew is always going out of his way to say, "hi!"

I love my life! Hanging out with kids is really the best!

Fur-baby Friday

It is Friday, right? These days blend together, especially during the holidays. I've been thinking it's Friday for a whole week.

Little JCrew has a stuffed dachshund that he loves; but so do the real puppies. They've adopted him into their pack.

Most toys get destroyed real quick. The squeaky toys we gave them on Christmas already lost their squeakers. This puppy is unharmed. That's how I know they love him.

They still have not acknowledged Baby B. he is just another stray I brought home.

I still love my puppies.

Happy Friday!

Christmas Day 2012

Our Christmas was a special day full of family time. We didn't wake up any earlier than normal... 5:30 on the nose.

We all ate breakfast and fed the little one. Then Mr. JCrew was eager to get Little JCrew unwrapping his gifts.

First up was his gift from his Aunt Logan. He loved it!

It was a fire station. It had a slide for the fire truck to go down, and Little JCrew gave his best attempt to try the slide out. Wish I had caught that on camera!

Baby B had fun watching. Funny story about his outfit... My kids are the Kings of Blowouts! We had just gotten inside Target and were looking around when Baby B started grunting. He was working on that poop! After giving him time to finish, I checked and of course it was up his back. We forget that we packed an extra outfit and go heading to the baby department to buy an outfit. We checkout and go into the bathroom to change. All clean and ready to keep shopping! We get out to the car, and THEN I remember the extra outfit. Oh well. I think it's cute and festive!

Little JCrew and Mr. JCrew had fun getting the toys out of their packaging. They are making it tougher!

I got the boys together to pose.

Little JCrew was pre-occupied by the talking fire truck.

Aunt Kerry sent a Spy-Glass that had a map and bandana.

We showed him how to look in it, but he put it up to his mouth like a trumpet (Mimi recently taught him how.)

Baby B kept chilling and watching. Here he is with his gift from Aunt Kerry and Aunt Kendal.

Since I made the train table this year as a present for the boys, I re-gifted a gift I gave Little JCrew last year to go with it. We actually never opened it last year.

Now he had trains to go on his table. And Mr. JCrew and I set it up. Now I just need to paint those rivers, roads and trees! (Oh, and Mr. JCrew's waterfall.)

The last gift was for Little JCrew from Baby B. It's a guitar that can also be a piano. He loved it!

We got that on sale and were thrilled with the price for all that it does!

When it came to stockings, we were simple. Little JCrew was gifted these Sesame Street books and his favorite of all time is 'Bubbles, Bubbles.' That was his favorite word for a while. We were in the dollar section at Target collecting stocking stuffers and we saw more of these Sesame Street books for $1. We grabbed him a couple.

He also got a dino puzzle and a slinky!

The slinky was a hit! We tested it down the stairs.

After nap time, we headed off to the Grandparents' house. The cousins were already over there.

Little JCrew went straight for their toy drawer in the kitchen.

The cousins got a puppy from Santa this year. He wanted to join the kids playing.

Baby B enjoyed napping in everyone's laps. He's such a cuddle-bug!

While we were waiting on Aunt Kelsey to show, the kids just played with each other.

Mr. JCrew was playing with Cole and his spinning Light Sabres. Little JCrew was worried Cole was pounding on his daddy.

Then he was handed his turn at sparring with Cole.

Finally it was time to open gifts. Little JCrew got a cool learning cash register and a tiny set of drums.

We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and enjoyed your time with family. We feel very blessed to have been able to spend time with our families and reflect on how lucky we are. May we never forget.
